C.V.
Hunt's books aren't cozy, and HOME IS WHERE THE HORROR IS is certainly
no exception. If you're looking for a writer whose work will calm your
mind, settle your soul, and reassure you that all is right in your little corner of the
universe, then you'd do well to look elsewhere. This novel -- and other
books by Hunt, like her fantastic RITUALISTIC HUMAN SACRIFICE -- is
provocative and gut-wrenching, often difficult to stomach, in the best
tradition of transgressive fiction. Death and suicide, infidelity,
perversion, desire, disfigurement, horror -- all are examined through
the somewhat cynical eyes of the main character, Evan, a photographer
whose entire life has been one difficult turn after another.
I
can't recommend C.V. Hunt's books highly enough. If a true "walk on the
wild side" is what you're looking for in a book, then look no further
than HOME IS WHERE THE HORROR IS.
